New! Care and Handling of Costumes and Textiles

This 4-week online course will provide an introduction to the factors effecting the preservation and care of textiles and costumes. An overview of fibers and fabric structures will be reviewed. Participants will learn about appropriate techniques for handling and storing collections along with recommended sources for supplies. Additional considerations for exhibiting costumes and textiles will also be discussed.
PLEASE NOTE: Beginning in week 1, students in this course will need access to a loupe or magnifying glass to help with identification. Please contact Museumwise Associate Director - Programs Dana Krueger with any questions.
The cost to participate in a 4-week online course is $65 for Museumwise members, $85 for non-members. Reminder that Go! Grant funds can be used to cover the cost of taking one or more of our online courses!
